Berlin joined ICORN at the 2018 ICORN General Assembly in Malmö, hosting writers, artists, and journalists through the Berliner Künstlerprogramm des DAAD programme.
It is one of three ICORN Cities of Refuge in Germany, alongside Hannover and Frankfurt.
Since 2018, Berlin has hosted eight ICORN residents, including Nada Al-Khawwam, Olga Bubich, and Farhad Babaei.
