Gävle, the capital of the Swedish County of Gävleborg, joined ICORN in 2015. Through its collaboration with Gävle Konstcentrum, the city focuses on hosting artists at risk as its ICORN residents.
Since 2015, Gävle has hosted three artists, including renowned Syrian photographer and cinematographer Issa Touma, and most recently feminist graphic designer, illustrator, and visual artist Sara Khayat, also from Syria.
