Ithaca joined ICORN in 2015 through Ithaca City of Asylum, an all-volunteer project of the Center for Transformative Action, supported by donations, small grants, and assistance from Ithaca College and Cornell University.
Since 2015, Ithaca has hosted four ICORN residents, including award-winning Nicaraguan cartoonist Pedro X. Molina, Sri Lankan lawyer and human rights activist Sonali Samarasinghe, and leading Pakistani journalist Raza Rumi.
