Xebat Rasouli is a Kurdish Iranian writer and journalist who has held various roles, including as editor of the magazine 'Raman' and the Kurdish newspaper 'Xebat'. Originally from the Kurdistan region of Iran, his work explores the experiences of Kurdish writers, regional politics, sexual politics, sociology, literature, and philosophy. Throughout his journalistic career, Rasouli has faced censorship and harassment, and he has been an outspoken advocate for the right of Kurds to write, speak, and read in their own languages.

Rasouli is the author of four short story collections: The Wine Years (2006), Waran (2014), The Empty Luggage (2018), and Unwritten Stories of Qarna (2021), the latter comprising 27 tales about the massacres of Kurdish villages, including Qarna. He has also translated Gavkouni (2008), a novel by Jafar Modarres Sadeghi, into Kurdish.

Between 2020 and 2022, Rasouli was the ICORN resident in Asker, Norway.
